Peoples' struggles and vindications on debate in Venezuela

The struggles and vindications of women, indigenous peoples and Afro-descendants are the main topics for debate at the World Anti-imperialist Meeting being held in this capital until January 24.

During the debates at working sessions, participants are analyzing the experiences from those sectors, which are discriminated and are victims of racist and xenophobic policies.

The protection of cultures and indigenous peoples, facing western cultural patterns and the actions by feminist movements are some of the topics on the agenda of the meeting.

Among the most debated issues are the assassinations of social leaders in Colombia and the persecution of feminist and minority leaders in several countries, among others.

Representatives from the Palestinian State denounced the constant aggressions, attacks and assassinations perpetrated by Israel against that people.

For their part, the indigenous peoples called to promote a culture of resistance in light of sociocultural invasions in those communities.

The World Meeting against Imperialism, for Life, Sovereignty and Peace, opened on Wednesday and will take place until Friday in this city, as a continuity of the 25th Meeting of the Sao Paulo Forum, held in July 2019.
