More than 1.4 million Colombians abroad will vote between May 25 and 31 in the presidential election across 67 countries worldwide.

The National Registry of Civil Status has confirmed that overseas voting for Colombia’s presidential election for the 2026–2030 term will begin on May 25, enabling more than 1.4 million registered citizens abroad to participate in a one-week electoral process spanning dozens of countries.

The overseas voting period will run from May 25 to May 31, aligning with the national electoral calendar. During this time, voting will take place across 253 polling sites distributed in 67 countries.

According to the electoral authority, 1,414,661 Colombians are eligible to vote from abroad. This figure includes 777,343 women and 637,318 men.

Between May 25 and May 30, a total of 1,489 voting tables will be operational in consulates and authorized locations. On May 31, the final day of voting, the number of tables will increase to 2,181.

The United States registers the largest Colombian electorate abroad, with 454,262 eligible voters and 684 voting tables. Spain follows with 307,996 voters and 457 tables, while Venezuela records 180,782 voters across 273 tables.

The Registry confirmed that the only valid identification document for voting is the national citizenship card (cédula de ciudadanía), whether in its physical hologram format or its digital version, including mobile access. Passports, military IDs, and other documents will not be accepted.

Voters can verify their assigned polling station through the National Registry’s official website, its chatbot service, or the “A votar” mobile application.

Preliminary results from overseas voting will begin to be released on May 31 at 4:00 p.m. Colombia time, coinciding with the closure of polls nationwide.

The overseas voting operation is part of Colombia’s broader electoral logistics for the 2026–2030 presidential race, aimed at ensuring participation for citizens residing outside the country across multiple continents.
