'We won with over half a million votes,' Evo Morales says

Bolivian President Evo Morales this Wednesday said that the Movement for Socialism (MAS) won with more than half a million votes, which he described as a great victory.

'We won with over half a million votes. It is a great victory,' said the Bolivian president in statements to the local press this morning. 'We have guaranteed economic growth, social peace, social justice, equality. I want to denounce worldwide that a coup d'état is under way. The right planned it supported internationally,' Evo Morales stressed.

Morales said that for the time being, the government endured with patience since they do not want to come into conflict.

He blamed the right of the mindlessly destructive actions caused on Monday and Tuesday in separate departments of the South American nation and urged them 'not to be responsible for clashes among Bolivians.'

With 95.63% of the minutes checked, the Evo Morales reached 46.85% of votes; meanwhile his main opponent, the representative of the Citizen Community party, Carlos Mesa, reached 36.74%.

Regarding the election law, the Bolivian president would win in the first ballot with 50% of votes or 40% and additionally a difference of at least 10 points from the second candidate, Carlos Mesa.
