US lies about Cuban medical cooperation, Diaz-Canel says

The United States lies in its campaign against Cuba's international medical cooperation, President Miguel Diaz-Canel said on Friday.

On his Twitter account, the president described as false, illegitimate and unilateral the list on human trafficking in which Washington includes Cuba.

'The brazen 'confusion' between saving people and human trafficking. The empire lies and tries to confuse, its false list is illegitimate and unilateral, without any moral force. It cannot stand #Cuba's example. #WeAreCuba #WeSaveLives, the Cuban head of State twitted.

Previously, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez noted that Cuba implements a zero tolerance policy against human trafficking, in response to recent statements by the United States on the Caribbean island's medical missions that render their services in several countries.

Rodriguez rejected his country's inclusion in the annual report from the Department of State on human trafficking, and ratified Cuba's exemplary work against any form of that scourge.
