Coronavirus death toll climbs in China, incubation period extends

China has reported on Tuesday at least 1,600 deaths and 42,638 infected with the coronavirus outbreak and its consequent pneumonia, which worries more because its incubation period was extended from 14 to 24 days.

The most recent health report also explain about 3,996 people recovered and more than 300 cases in Asian, European, North American, Middle East and Oceanian countries mainly among Chinese travelers from Wuhan and the deceased in the Philippines remains in one.

The disease remains present throughout the country with a tendency to decrease, but continues to have a greater impact in central Hubei province and its capital, Wuhan, epicenter of the outbreak.

Virus expert Zhong Nanshan said in an article that the incubation period could be up to 24 days, or 10 days more, raising the risk of infection because the coronavirus is transmitted at that stage.

On the other hand, the Committee on Legal Affairs at China's National People's Assembly (Parliament) began the revision of the law on the protection of wild animals, plans to raise it to the Standing Committee this year and also accelerate the regulation to prevent epidemics from animal origin.

Since late January, China has banned the breeding, trade and transportation of wild animals while epidemiological adversity spreads.

In the future, the Administration will join forces with forestry, agricultural, customs and food sector authorities with a view to attacking any form of consumption.
