Maduro condemns US interference in Parliament's decisions

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Monday condemned the US Government's interference by supporting the decisions made by the National Assembly (AN) in contempt.

During an interview with journalist Anthony Faiola, of The Washington Post and republished by the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the head of State said that the US executive should not intervene in matters that are solely of the Bolivarian nation.

Maduro criticized the report published on the official website of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), in which it admits to having paid more than 460 million dollars to Venezuelan extrem right-wing sectors under the excuse of humanitarian assistance.

The document notes that by means of an agreement, signed in October 2019, USAID committed millions of dollars in order to support the development of plans to recover the economy and implement social services during a transition towards democracy.

In that regard, Maduro questioned the existence of that money, which according to the US government, it was handed over to Juan Guaido, former president of Venezuela's National Assembly.

He also pointed out that the only person responsible for losing the presidency of Parliament was Guaido himself, because of his clumsy leadership and corruption.
