Victims' relatives support accusation against Chilean president

The Group of Eye Trauma Victims sent an open letter to the heads of political parties, so that their legislators vote in favor of the constitutional accusation against President Sebastian Piñera.

If the Chamber of Deputies votes mostly for the accusation this Thursday, the lawsuit will go to the Senate, which will make the final decision; otherwise, it would be dismissed in that first instance.

The letter recalls the 'very serious violations of Human Rights committed during social protests' and points out the responsibility of the president for crimes against humanity perpetrated by police officers against their people.

Remember that until December 7, there were 352 people with some kind of eye injury or trauma resulting from the violence exerted by police forces 'who without any kind of ethics, responsibility or empathy, have dedicated themselves to blinding a nation that refuses to close its eyes again.'

Therefore, they called all lawmakers 'to vote in favor of the constitutional accusation against the president', who must be held responsible for the systematic human rights violations that have been committed.

As reported, the Eye Trauma Victims Coordinator called a mass rally this Friday in front of La Moneda palace, to demand justice and due process for those responsible for such violations.
