Brazil sends Vice President Mourao to attend assumption in Argentina

Brazil decided to send Vice President Antonio Hamilton Mourao to represent this Government at the inauguration of Argentine President-elect Alberto Fernández, the Vice Presidency reported today.

After several rumors about who the envoy would be, President Jair Bolsonaro changed his mind again and finally decided that General Mourão would represent the country.

Earlier the president said 'first I am looking at the guest list. When I took charge here I also did not invite some authorities. And our trade with Argentina will remain the same, no problem, it will not interfere with anything. '

At the beginning of November, former army captain commented that he would not attend the inauguration ceremony of Fernández, who unjustifiably defeated Mauricio Macri, a politician close to his ultra-right ideology, at the polls on October 27.

Mourão explained on his part that his appointment is a gesture of the president so that relations are normalized. I will try to board today, 'he announced.
