On the way to elections, Argentina is torn between two models

There is tension in the financial markets while in the streets many people wait for Sunday's first round in which the Argentinians must choose between six proposals, but two very different models.

While US dollar continues getting stronger against peso, after five months of arduous campaign, many political propaganda and a strong bid that for some increased the existing polarization, a large number of Argentinians expect that the future will be defined within five days.

Many people think the most crucial days of the year are coming, with a president Mauricio Macri running for re-election two months before finishing his term on December 10.

During the final stages of his campaign, Argentina's president has attacked Kirchnerism, a movement represented by the most important current opposition figure and vice presidential candidate, Cristina Fernandez.

Judging by the results of the primary, for many the election will be defined between Macri and Alberto Fernandez, his main opponent, who took 16 points ahead last August.

Two diametrically opposed models, very distant. While Macri makes promises in his campaign and stresses that Argentina is better-off than four years ago, in the midst of a country in recession, his rivals attack him by pointing to deficiencies in the economy, the biggest problem of his administration.

On the other hand, Fernandez touches sensitive issues, points out that the Argentinians can saved the country, and calls all the sectors to work together to achieve Argentina's recovery.
