The president of the United States, Donald Trump, declared that a military attack against Venezuela is still an option and admitted that a few months ago, he rejected a request to meet with his counterpart, Nicolás Maduro Moros, and discuss bilateral relations.
"The truth is that (Maduro) asked me for a meeting and I rejected it, given how advanced we were in this process," Trump said in an interview with CBS.
The United States began on January 23rd several actions against Venezuela, including the support of Juan Guaidó, who proclaimed himself as interim president of the nation. In addition, they confiscated more than 7,000 million dollars in assets from the Venezuelan state oil company (PDVSA).
Similarly, the US authorities have reiterated in numerous statements, their claims to install a new government in Venezuela, using the military option.
