Housing Mission to deliver 1,069 new homes to Venezuelan families

AVN.- The delivery of 1,069 new homes from the Great Housing Mission Venezuela (GMVV, Spanish acronym) and more than 3,070 land property deeds will be formalized this week.
The information was released by the Minister for Housing and Habitat Manuel Quevedo, following the 22nd meeting of the superior organ on housing and habitat in Chacao, Miranda state.
The minister also reported that the Great Mission Barrio Nuevo, Barrio Tricolor or New, Tricolor Neighborhood –a social program aimed at the restoration of infrastructure and services of popular areas– has renovated 4,055 homes in different parts of the country.
The GMVV reached this week more than 1.7 million houses granted, which represents near 56.71% of the goal set for the year while the Great Mission Barrio Nuevo, Barrio Tricolor has renovated 478.015 houses.
The GMVV was created in 2011 on the initiative of Commander Hugo Chavez, who called for initially serving the Venezuelan families who had been left homeless as a result of heavy rains in the country in late 2010 and early 2011.
Later, it was extended to the rest of the population, mainly to those families that, due to the high cost of real estate in the speculative market, for economic reasons, had not been able to buy a house of their own. The goal for this year is one million homes built and delivered.
