The National Constituent Assembly (ANC, Spanish acronym) approved this Tuesday the Law of the Commission for Truth, Justice and Peace.
The legal instrument was unanimously approved by constituent deputies during the second session of the ANC, held in the Federal Legislative Palace in downtown Caracas.
"The constitutional law for the Commission for Truth, Justice and Public Legitimacy is hereby approved. We said that we came to make history and this law is a powerful instrument to quell violence, hatred and intolerance," said president of the Constituent Assembly, Delcy Rodriguez.
Through this legal mechanism, she added, "we will determine the truth, the responsibilities of the perpetrators. There is no political distinction or partisanship here, there are victims who are Venezuelans and we owe them our moral, physical and material reparations."
