95.6% of the polling stations are taken for July 30 elections

AVN.- A total of 13,886 polling stations have been taken by Plan Republic troops and representatives of the National Electoral Council (CNE), in preparation for the National Constituent Assembly (ANC) elections, to be held on Sunday, July 30, said president of the committee, Tibisay Lucena.
In a joint radio and television address, Lucena said this figure represents 95.67% of the 14,515 polling centers authorized for this election.
"There need to be taken 629 more centers, of which 300 are in Portuguesa state, where their takeover has been rescheduled due to floods, however, between Tuesday and tomorrow, Wednesday they will be taken. A very small number throughout the country could not be taken, and these are 18 spaces that were prevented by the refusal of the polling center itself," she said.
She ratified that those facilities being prevented from voting will lose their quality as a polling station and will be excluded from the CNE list.
In addition, she reported they have found that some people who have been elected by the popular vote and in an undemocratic way, have tried to loot and burn polling stations.
"We have two cases in the country. If the person does not agree, democracy allows not to go to vote. It is contradictory that those citizens who say they are fighting for democracy, take adverse means to prevent the right to vote," she said.
Likewise, the CNE director stressed that the process of preparation of the 30,431 voting machines arranged for the voting day has ended, while 92% of the technological equipment and electoral material have already been deployed across the country.
Lucena asserted that the training of technicians and operators who will offer their services on the election day was successfully completed.
So far, audits of voting software, notebooks and voter information have been completed. The revision of machine production and totalization software is currently under development.
Only two pending audits remain on the electoral timetable: the functioning of the telecommunications system and citizen verification.
