AVN.- The psychological operations, used as fundamental strategies of the unconventional war, delve into a set of conditions that plunge the population into a state of confrontation fomenting violence and biased national and international campaign against legally constituted governments to propitiate the rupture of the democratic order, social psychologist Fernando Giuliani said.
During the First International Forum of Psychology, Violence and Psychological Operations, held in the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, the spokesperson of the Colectivo (community organization) of Psychologists for Socialism, said that Venezuela is a target of these strategies because of its energetic and geopolitical importance within the Latin American and Caribbean context, where it has been building a socialist revolution aimed at fostering regional integration.
He explained that within the "logic" used by this unconventional strategy, we tend to trivialize the effects of psychological warfare that operates in individual and collective interactions, where there are prejudices and stereotypes with a high level to diminish the reflective capacity, in such a manner that it is the same population who creates the conditions for the overthrow.
"An international campaign is launched on the grounds that such country is experiencing a 'catastrophe' and its government can not take over its fundamental functions", which feeds the world opinion of an "outlaw state" that "represses and violates human rights" to create the conditions for foreign intervention, he said.
According to the specialist, the speech of those who promote this war is permanently reiterating that it is a strategy of resistance, and for this modality to prosper, they launch a world campaign putting forward that there is a dictatorship in the country. "They repeat that over and over, they build a story, they give it legal structure and, most importantly, that increasingly creates a lot of confusion," Giuliani said.
In Latin America there is a long history of domination, interference and coups, but the arrival in recent years of popular progressive governments has forced the dominant powers, in recent decades, to change their strategies, he said.
