Venezuela rejects OAS' Almagro interference campaign

The Permanent Mission of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the OAS rejects the campaign of aggression conducted by the secretary general of this organization, Luis Almagro, against the sovereignty of the South American country.
In a statement released on the site of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the country's representatives to the OAS reject the repeated attacks by Almagro and spokespersons of the national right, who are seeking a foreign intervention and attacks against the integrity of the Venezuelan homeland.
Here is the full statement:
The Permanent Mission of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the OAS
The Permanent Mission of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Organization of American States (OAS) once again deplores the actions of Mr. Luis Almagro, who in his unpopular and provocative media political campaign against the legitimate and constitutional government of Venezuela, has called for March 20, 2017, a press conference with members of the Venezuelan political party Voluntad Popular (or People's Will), using one more time the OAS facilities for proselytizing purposes, violating not only the principles of non-intervention in the internal affairs of states, peaceful coexistence and good faith contained in the OAS Charter, but also the internal regulations of the body expressly stating that "the programs or functions at the Organization of American States' buildings or any other facilities of the Organization, shall not be of political, or similar nature or purpose (Administrative Memorandum No. 68).
With his call through the official website of the OAS, he also intends to show he has an institutional backing of OAS political bodies, he does not have. It is an initiative that only responds to his agenda of personal hatred against a State member. This is another sign of the hard blow to the institutional structure of the OAS.
In denouncing these facts, we request the Permanent Council President to begin consultations with member states in order to ensure observance of the standards governing General Secretariat operations.
The Permanent Mission of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela very respectfully requests the Honorable President of the Permanent Council to receive this note as a protest against the call made by Mr. Almagro for a "discussion" on Venezuela's internal affairs and to transmit it to the Member States and Permanent Observers to the OAS, in the official languages of the Organization.
Washington D.C. March 19, 2017
To His Excellency
Ambassador Patrick ANDREWS
Permanent Representative of Belize
