The Israel’s occupation forces murdered 29 civilians and wounded 133 others on June 9 during more than 100 air strikes in southern Lebanon, escalating their military campaign despite recent regional diplomatic efforts.
The Zionist entity unleashed a coordinated wave of aerial, artillery and drone bombardments against numerous towns and villages across southern Lebanon.
This brutal escalation persists despite the cessation of direct hostilities reported yesterday between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Israeli regime.
During the last 24 hours, the occupation’s offensive resulted in massive casualties, bringing the total toll since March 2 to at least 3,666 people killed and more than 11,321 injured, the vast majority being women and children.
These actions constitute more than 3,500 ceasefire violations, causing widespread devastation of public infrastructure and private residential properties.
Furthermore, the Tel Aviv regime issued aggressive evacuation orders for the historic city of Tyre, including its Christian quarter, under the pretext of targeting defensive positions.
Yesterday, a targeted Zionist bombardment near the International Red Cross center in Tyre killed five individuals and wounded eight others, including four humanitarian paramedics.
Meanwhile, in the city of Sidon, a hostile drone strike murdered two citizens, including one minor, and left ten civilians wounded, including four women.
Sovereign Resistance Defended
Amidst these continuous violations, the geopolitical tension remains high. The Iranian Government emphasized that it will not remain passive in the face of ongoing Israeli aggression, warning that the region faces either a comprehensive ceasefire or a dangerous expansion of the conflict. In contrast, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun advocated for diplomatic negotiations to halt the war. However, Aoun drew sharp criticism for attempting to equate the sovereign defense actions of Iran and Hezbollah with the criminal operations of the Zionist occupation.
Diplomatic negotiations mediated by the United States are scheduled to resume on June 22. Backed by Washington, the Israeli regime presented an unacceptable demand requiring 2,300 resistance fighters to withdraw from southern territory. The President of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, categorically rejected this proposal, explaining that these combatants are native inhabitants of southern Lebanon defending theair own ancestral lands.
Berri conditioned any future dialogue on the absolute cessation of Zionist maritime, aerial, and land aggressions, alongside the complete withdrawal of the occupying army. He demanded the deployment of the Lebanese Army in the evacuated zones, the immediate return of displaced civilians, and firmly rejected the establishment of foreign-controlled experimental buffer zones.
This political impasse unfolds during a severe domestic economic crisis, which severely limits the government’s capacity to provide humanitarian aid to more than 1,400,000 displaced people currently surviving in makeshift tents and temporary shelters without access to basic services.
