Venezuela’s Acting President Urges Economic Actors to Work

Rodriguez condemned an attempt to paralyze transportation in Caracas.

On Monday, Venezuelan Acting President Delcy Rodriguez called on all economic actors to work for the nation’s development and well-being.

More specifically, she called on transport entrepreneurs in Caracas to abandon an attempted strike demanding a 100% increase in the minimum fare.

“It is not right to attempt to impede the right to free movement. I call on Venezuela to work and to let those who want to work do so,” she said.

“All, without exception, will be heard,” Rodriguez stressed, noting that the Venezuelan government has established spaces for dialogue.

One of them is the Program for Democratic Coexistence and Peace, which aims to listen to the aspirations and demands of the people.

The Venezuelan acting president lamented the existence of extremist sectors that continue to incite problems “from abroad with a telephone.”

For his part, Transport Minister Anibal Coronado described as a “failure” the transport strike attempt called for March 16 by a small number of private urban transport operators in Caracas.
