Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Golikova assured on Wednesday that 27 countries have expressed their interest so far in acquiring Russia's Covid-19 vaccine Sputnik V presented on August 11.
During a meeting called by Russia's President Vladimir Putin, Golikova detailed that among these nations are Belarus, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Venezuela and Kazakhstan.
In addition, she indicated that those States are closely following clinical trials, the third phase of which will begin in September and will have the participation of 40,000 volunteers.
According to the Sputnik news agency, the Deputy Prime Minister released that the Health, Industry and Trade portfolios selected three plants for the production of the vaccine with a view to its future commercialization.
On August 11, Putin announced that Russia officially registered the first vaccine in the world against Covid-19, after passing the tests that confirm its safety and effectiveness in creating immunity in people.
Russian authorities explained that Sputnik V must be ready for open commercialization in the international market on January 1, 2021.
