Putin analyses epidemiological and health situation in Russia


Russian president Vladimir Putin assessed on Wednesday the epidemiological-sanitary situation and preparations for the autumn-winter period, as this country totals 828,990 cases of Covid-19.

Putin held an extended meeting to analyze preparation of medical services and the epidemiological health situation, said Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov.

The head of the Vector scientific center, Ilmaz Imatdinov, said that the vaccine developed by the unit could be put into industrial production by the end of this year and the beginning of 2021.

This happens when in one day 5,475 new infections were registered, a figure that remains below 6,000 since nine days ago, said the Russian operational staff to combat the Covid-19.

Also, of the total number of infected people in 84 of 85 Russian regions, 26.8 percent were asymptomatic.

Russia registered 8,116 patients recovered in one day, bringing the total number of cured people to 620,333, for a national recovery rate of 74.8 percent.

On the last day 169 patients died, bringing the total to 13,673.

In the northern city of St. Petersburg 23 death were reported, 12 in this capital, nine in Perm far-off region, eight in Sverdlovsk Oblast, and seven in the Republic of Karelia, Novosibirsk Oblast, and Krasnoyarsk region.

Covid-19 added 223 new cases in Sverdlov, 173 in Khanty-Mansiysk, 165 in St. Petersburg, and 159 in Irkutsk oblast.
