'We will never accept the Deal of the Century,' says President Abbas

Palestine's President Mahmoud Abbas reiterated this Saturday his rejection of the Deal of the Century drawn up by the US, and ratified that his people remain committed to ending the Israeli occupation and establishing a sovereign State.

During his speech in an extraordinary session of the Arab League, Abbas stressed that he will not accept the solution proposed by Washington and that he will not admit the White House as a mediator in any negotiation with Tel Aviv, reviewed the website Ahram.

The president advanced Palestine will go to international entities such as the UN Security Council in order to explain the country's position.

'I will not have it recorded in my history that I have sold Jerusalem,' he insisted referring to the 50 billion dollars pledged as investments to foster prosperity in the Gaza Strip and the assigned portions within the West Bank.

US President Donald Trump said they had been working on the Deal of the Century for years but such document differs from the solution of the two States with the borders before 1967 endorsed by the UN as the only viable way out of resolving the everlasting conflict, which would be a significant contribution to peace in the Middle East.

Under the newly disclosed initiative,Palestinians would be granted limited autonomy within a homeland consisting of non-contiguous enclaves scattered throughout the West Bank and Gaza.
