Russia denounces US destabilizing policy in the world

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Friday denounced the destabilizing policy and sanctions implemented by the United States, which are contrary to the construction of multipolar world.

That policy includes the withdrawal from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF), the unilateral sanctions against countries that are uncomfortable for Washington, the trade war with China and actions to increase tensions in the Middle East, Lavrov stated.

In addition, the West promotes the approach of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to Russia's western borders, and unilateral restrictions, including those against the North Torrent 2 gas pipe, despite Europe's opposition, the minister added.

The White House also manipulates the granting of visas to officials from other States represented at the United Nations, in violation of the commitments made at the time by the United States as the venue of that international organization, the head of Russian diplomacy said at his annual press conference.

Russia seeks détente to prevent the escalation of conflicts and promotes dialogue with other nations, Lavrov noted.

Moscow maintains his strong struggle against international terrorism, including in Syria, a country with which it cooperates in the development of the political process and the solution of humanitarian problems, while it favors amending the error of expelling Syria from the Arab League, he underlined.

Lavrov also noted the strengthening of ties of the Euro-Asian Economic Union (Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia and Kirgizstan) with Vietnam, Singapore and Serbia, with which agreements have been signed on free trade, while negotiations are underway with Iran, Turkey and Egypt.

The foreign minister noted the good development of relations with Latin America and with Africa, with which Russia held the first summit with that continent in the coastal resort of Sochi in 2019.
