With an evident feeling of tiredness, Spaniards went to the polls on Sunday to repeat April's general elections, but surveys do not show any possible unblocking to form a Government.
The leaders of the main political forces closed their campaigns on Friday for today's elections, the fourth voting in four years, as a result of growing parliamentary fragmentation.
The electoral race started officially on November 1, with the classic scene of political leaders putting posters of them on walls on the street.
As it is a repetition of the April 28 elections, this campaign had a reduced format of just eight days, instead of the usual 15 days, and was again tarnished by the serious territorial crisis in Catalonia.
The recent ruling by the Supreme Court, which sentenced nine pro-independence leaders to prison terms of up to 13 years due to their role in the failed attempt at secession in that northeastern autonomous region in 2017, generated a wave of protests that must continue in the next few days.
