China rejects US attempts to discredit its policies

China has rejected some US officials' attempts to discredit and threaten the policies this Asian nation is currently undertaking domestically and internationally.

Chinese Foreign Ministry's spokeswoman Hua Chunying refuted some recent statements by US Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Ford on the challenges Beijing represents for Washington and its allies.

Ford said during a speech that the White House is working on a strategy to address the possible 'security' threats China poses to the United States and its partners.

For Hua, this is another attempt by the US administration to defame and offend the order in the country.

In his words, Ford did not take the truth into account, discredited and arbitrarily distorted China's domestic and foreign policies, and incited the so-called 'China threat,' fully exposing the Cold War mentality of some US officials, Hua said.

According to the Chinese official, this is a very dangerous position, which in no way contributes to the good development of the bilateral relations.

History shows that China is committed to world peace, global development and international order, the spokeswoman said.
