Venezuelan Vice President Rejects Statements by John Bolton

Venezuela''s Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodriguez, rejected statements by U.S. National Security Advisor John Bolton this Friday about members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).

In public statements after a cabinet meeting, the official expressed her repudiation of Bolton's most recent statements, who assured that the FANB's loyalty to the Venezuelan government is conditioned by pressure and physical torture against its members.

The White House advisor also quoted an article in The New York Times that assures that President Nicolas Maduro uses this military corps to maintain his control of the State, defamations rejected by several Venezuelan officials.

Rodriguez said she supports Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino's visit to Russia and the signing of technical-military agreements with Moscow.

On the other hand, she stressed that the Bolivarian nation is working on strengthening its food autonomy and agreements with the public and private sectors to ensure supplies to the population.

She congratulated the massive participation of the people in the collection of signatures in the #NoMoreTrump campaign, which began August 10, in rejection of the U.S. blockade against this South American nation.
