Bolivia currently supports Venezuela and rejects US sanctions against the Bolivarian nation, as a question of solidarity, stated Gustavo Torrico, departmental delegate for the Movement Toward Socialism (MAS).
He specified that the measures adopted by the government of President Donald Trump have a devastating effect on the economy of the South American country and demand the unity of its people to face them, as Cuba has done for more than half a century, revealed an article in the daily newspaper Cambio.
He highlighted the existence of 'good conscience,' shown by Venezuelans when they decided to march in support of President Nicolas Maduro, and the need to extend solidarity beyond words to more action.
'Although the coercive measures of the northern country prohibit you from buying and selling, no one can prohibit you from donating, especially in food that we can send such as sugar, rice, tubers, among others,' he said.
Torrico stressed that the mobilizations in Bolivia in support of Venezuela include committed people and a brotherhood worthy of recognition.
He recalled that the speeches of Venezuelan opposition groups replicated in the Andean-Amazonian nation are the repetition of a script from Washington, and reiterated that internal dialogue is the means to resolve the situation in which only the Bolivarian people must choose which path to follow, without interference.
'The opposition asks for an early election without Maduro's participation, the same as they want elections here, but without Evo (Morales), it's just a script. If there is an advance election, everyone must participate, including Maduro,' he emphasized.
