The Venezuelan government will close its embassies and consulates in the United States after the rupture of diplomatic relations, announced on Thursday the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro.
From the headquarters of the Supreme Court of Justice, in Caracas, said that the Venezuelan diplomatic staff will return to the country on Saturday and will be received with an act of recognition.
During the beginning of the judicial year 2019, the President ratified the breakdown of diplomatic relations with the United States, whom he accused of promoting a coup with the support of opposition sectors.
"Yesterday I made a decision that I firmly uphold, within the framework of national law, international law and as head of State and Government, I have decided to break diplomatic relations with the Donald Trump government and expel all its diplomatic personnel thus until Sunday they have 72 hours to withdraw from Venezuela, I ratify, "he said.
He also assured that the US government is pushing the Venezuelan opposition to the worst scenarios of the country's madness, because there is desperation and hatred in the actions of the vice president of the United States and its secretary general, Mike Pompeo, of whom he assures, are the heads of this sector.
In response, he asked the people to become active advocates of peace in the face of aggressions against sovereignty promoted from abroad.
The national leader asked for maximum sanity and work to the institutions before the attempts of a coup d'état in the country.
International recognition
In his meeting with the highest court of justice, Maduro said he had a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, who expressed his solidarity and recognition as the first national authority.
"President Maduro, count on Russia's unwavering support and now more than ever we are going to work on bilateral cooperation projects for the development of Venezuela," he said.
To this statement is added the willingness of the Bolivarian Government, to dialogue with the political sectors of the country, following the initiative shown by the governments of Mexico and Uruguay for a national dialogue.
Therefore, he said he was prepared to reach agreements, aimed at the peace of the nation and thanked the governments of the world such as Turkey, Russia, China, among others who have ratified their support for the respect of Venezuela's sovereignty.
Support from the FANB
In the transmission of the act of the TSJ, Maduro, congratulated the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) for its pronouncement in favor of the constitutional order of the country, after the military component rejected the illegal actions that seek to impose a parallel government after the events occurred last Wednesday, where the deputy to the National Assembly in contempt and legal nullity, Juan Guaidó, proclaimed himself "president in charge" of Venezuela.
In this regard, he said: "I will never renounce the commitments of the fatherland, never ever under any circumstances."
Also, he said that for peace and democracy a state of law and social justice is necessary, so it will continue to bring the people's complaints since the relevant institutions, so that justice advances in Venezuelan society.
Maximum penalty for corruption
Maduro delivered on Thursday a project of total reform of the Law against Corruption to the president of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC), Diosdado Cabello, and the president of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), Maikel Moreno.
It is, he said, a reform to adapt to crimes and modern times, which seeks to merge the various agencies responsible for the fight against corruption and the application of the law to make them more efficient.
The president said that those who participate in acts of speculation with regulated products of first necessity will be punished with sentences of six to ten years in prison.
Faced with this, he called for respecting and taking care of the agreed prices of the products before their irrational increase as a result of induced inflation.
"The Law of Agreed, Respected, Balanced and Fair Prices has to be imposed, we have to achieve it and overcome the economic war," he added.
