Sao Paulo Forum calls to defend Venezuela, Nicaragua and the people of Brazil

The Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Ralph Gonsalves, called on Sunday to defend the governments of Nicaragua and Venezuela, and to support the people of Brazil.
He exhorted during his participation in the XXIV Annual Meeting of the Forum of Sao Paulo, which is held from this Sunday until next Tuesday July 17th in Havana, Cuba.

"We have to support these brother nations with their successes and failures, that is the meaning of our struggle," said Gonsalves, speaking on the opening day of the event.

He added that "one day is Venezuela, another Brazil and then Nicaragua, we always remember the coup against the government of Manuel Zelaya in Honduras in June 2009," Gonsalves explained, Prensa Latina reports.

He then expressed his support for the former president of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, victim of judicial persecution.

Now Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is in prison but the people support him because they continue to see him as their leader, he said.

The Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, said that the United States is responsible for some situations that are occurring in the region.

He criticized as external agents conspire against governments and systematically practice interference in the internal affairs of countries.

The Caribbean leader asked to analyze in depth what imperialism means, which is transformed, but maintains its essence, and always tries to divide the peoples, and now went on the offensive, he emphasized.

Gonsalves attached great importance to the youth, now charged with continuing the struggle against state monopoly capitalism and neocolonialism.

"We are gathered here in this meeting to reaffirm that a better world is possible," he said.
The political concertation alliance, was created by the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and the former president of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, in 1990.
