Chancellor Arreaza urges the EU to desist from interventionist policy against Venezuela

Leaving aside the policy of intervention in the affairs of Venezuela and joining a constructive dialogue with Latin America and the Caribbean, was the call made to the European Union (EU) by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Jorge Arreaza.

"We have asked the EU to have a different approach, the EU Council cannot be set up in court because it is not, and it has no competence to do so. These sanctions, when you see the motivation, would not support any kind of analysis preliminary legal, "he said in an interview with the Agence France-Presse (AFP), which was cited in a press release.

The chancellor is in Brussels, Belgium, where the II Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States and of the European Union (Celac-EU) is taking place, where he has asked for respectful relations and constructive cooperation between both blocks.

For Arreaza, the EU responds to the guidelines established by the government of the United States against the people and the legitimate government of Venezuela, a format that is also being applied against Nicaragua to propitiate destabilizing actions.

"It is the same format applied to Venezuela, it has been applied in other parts of our America, it can be applied today in Nicaragua, yesterday in Venezuela and tomorrow in any other country where there is a government with a progressive sign," he added.

Therefore, he criticized the diplomatic behaviour of some member countries of the Celac, for incorporating the topic of Venezuela in the discussions of the ministerial meeting.

"Some countries, without having foreseen it in the meetings of the Celac, without having proposed topics on Venezuela and Nicaragua in the dialogue with the EU, began to introduce this subject following the script of the United States to facilitate the conditions for interventions in America. Latina ", he denounced.

The second ministerial meeting between Celac and the European Union will end on Tuesday. The meeting, in which ministers and senior representatives of the 33 countries of the Celac and the 28 of the EU, they center the debate on the construction of bridges and the strengthening of the association between these nations to face the global challenges.
