Israeli Occupation Forces Advance Beyond Litani River in Lebanon

PM Netanyahu acknowledges that his troops crossed deeper into Lebanese territory.

On Friday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu proudly stated that Israeli occupation forces had penetrated Lebanese territory beyond the Litani River, which is located about 30 kilometers from the border with Israel.

“Our forces crossed the Litani, and they advanced to the dominating terrain,” he said while visiting Zionist troops alongside Defense Minister Israel Katz.

Al Jazeera reported that Netanyahu also admitted that Israeli occupation forces are operating in Beirut, the Bekaa Valley, and “across the entire front.”

“Israeli forces have carried out a new series of air raids in southern Lebanon, targeting the towns of al-Baisariyah, as-Sarafand and Khirbet Selm… In addition, an Israeli strike targeted a motorcycle traveling on a road near al-Abbassieh, causing injuries,” the outlet added.

On Thursday, Israel killed at least 16 people in southern Lebanon, mainly in the districts of Sidon, Nabatieh and Tyre. This took place amid the celebration of Eid al-Adha, the Muslim Feast of Sacrifice.

From March 2 to date, Israeli occupation forces have killed 3,324 Lebanese people and wounded more than 10,000 others, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry.

Through social media, Shafek Koreshe, a journalist specializing in geopolitics, summarized the latest developments in the Middle East in the following way:

“Southern Lebanon is being decimated by Israel as they did to Gaza and there is a reason in madness.

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich publicly detailed border expansion plans that cover Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon up to the Litani River. He explicitly framed this territorial capture as the ‘final leg’ of a ‘Greater Israel’ project.

Israel has occupied 55 towns and villages in southern Lebanon, systematically destroying them through controlled demolitions. Officially, Israel now controls a self-declared ‘forward defensive zone’ covering 570 square kilometers. It has already taken over 60% of the West Bank and 64% of Gaza.

An illegal act that began from the Balfour Declaration continues to this day with active support of the United States, the United Kingdom and several European and some Arab countries.”
